Applications Open for Digital Literacy Mentors, Write Away – Aug 31
Posted by Write Away on August 2, 2022
Applications for prospective digital literacy mentors for Write Away’s Fall session are now open!
Write Away envisions a digital world where everyone is included and able to express themselves. Through our Digital Literacy Mentoring Program, students in grades 6-12 get matched up with a college student mentor who guides them through a series of writing tasks, which encourage creativity, increase digital literacy, and empower students through telling and owning their own story.
Mentors and mentees meet virtually 2-3 times per week for 1 hour at a time, and the schedule is set based on mutual availability between the mentor and mentee. New Mentor Training will take place via Zoom in September, and mentors and mentees will start meeting weekly in October.
For Prospective Digital Literacy Mentors (a virtual volunteer opportunity for current college students) here is the link to the application, which is due August 31.
