Bank of America Charitable Foundation Invites Applications for Community Needs

The Bank of America Charitable Foundation is committed to advancing a more diverse and inclusive society by expanding opportunities and supporting equitable solutions that enable low-income communities to grow and prosper.

To that end, it is inviting proposals that address economic mobility focused on the needs of low-income communities, with a focus on critical immediate needs, including increasing medical response capacity, addressing food insecurity, increasing access to learning in the wake of school closures, and supporting vulnerable populations.

Grant amounts in larger markets will range between $5,000 and $50,000. Grant amounts in smaller markets are likely to range from $2,500 to $25,000.

For the June 26 deadline, the foundation is accepting proposals in two categories:

Expanding Access to Housing Opportunities — Support will be provided for nonprofit organizations as they work to preserve and increase access to a mix of affordable housing options and connect low- and moderate- income individuals and families with the tools and resources to achieve their financial goals. Examples include housing efforts that address the needs of vulnerable populations, create pathways to stable housing, and sustain development efforts aimed at creating healthy living environments

Building Vibrant Communities — Support will be provided for local and regional revitalization efforts that take a holistic approach to building thriving communities and creating economic opportunity and livable neighborhoods. Examples include economic development efforts, revitalization and place-based initiatives, funding in support of neighborhood preservation efforts, construction of vital community facilities, efforts to strengthen the resiliency of communities, support for community arts and cultural institutions, and community greening efforts that create healthy neighborhoods and environmental sustainability.
