Job description

Position summary:

The Annual Giving Officer is responsible for aggressively facilitating the funding priorities of University of the Sciences by identifying, educating, engaging, cultivating, and soliciting alumni and other donors, both individually and in strategically-defined segments.

The Annual Giving Officer works independently and also as a member of the Institutional Advancement team. He/she coordinates his/her activities with those of other units in Institutional Advancement and other units at the University. The Annual Giving Officer reports to the Annual Giving Director and supports all Annual Giving activities and programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of 150-300 prospects, including alumni, parents of current students, members of faculty and staff, and others
• Design and implement personalized strategies to identify, engage, cultivate, solicit, and close gifts from prospects
• Focus solicitations on gift acquisition and retention and increased support
• Contribute to the development of personalized stewardship efforts
• Manage the engagement of the current student population with a goal of encouraging a culture of philanthropy before graduation through a student giving campaign
• Maintain and increase giving participation among alumni, in general, as well as in segmented populations, such as alumni who graduated within the last 15 years and alumni celebrating a reunion year
• Engage and secure volunteers to support annual programs and activities focused on cultivation and solicitation
• Assume and achieve annual fundraising and activity goals
• Identify, pursue, and create strategic partnerships to facilitate the achievement of engagement and fundraising goals
• Other duties as assigned
