The National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness is proud to announce that the 15th Annual Conference on Hunger and Homelessness will be held October 25-27, 2002 at theUniversity of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
Hosted by UPenn’s Civic House, the Conference will kick off a year of student action and campaign work. We anticipate that more than 500 students will travel across the country to learn more about the issues of hunger and homelessness, and to gain valuable leadership skills and ideas that will help them to launch programs in their own communities.
This year’s conference highlights include:
Inspirational speakers including Bill Shore, Executive Director of Share Our Strength and author of The Cathedral Within; Donald Whitehead, Executive Director of the National Coalition for the Homeless; and Eric Schockman, Executive Director of MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger.
Over 70 exciting workshops, a variety of issue-based panel discussions, the Oxfam Hunger Banquet, the Faces of Homelessness Panel, a service plunge in Philadelphia, and more!
