An Anthology of Disability Culture in Philadelphia
Posted by on August 16, 2002
“No Restraints: An Anthology of Disability Culture in Philadelphia” , published by New City Press and Liberty Resources, represents a significant and rare opportunity for the region’s community of people with disabilities to distinguish its unique perspective in the context of mainstream culture. Like other historic movements, the Movement for Disability Rights is at its core a movement for the civil rights of a distinct class of people. The goal of the Anthology is to help define the cultural glue that holds this community together, to promote Disability Pride and greater public understanding of the issues facing people with disabilities today.
“No Restraints” is available for $20 plus $2 shipping/handling. To order, contact newcity@blue.temple.edu or 215-204-2041.
