AmeriCorps VISTA Concept Papers – Jan 14
Posted by Corporation for National and Community Service on January 8, 2019
The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) is seeking concept papers for the AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) program. Concept Papers are due on Monday, January 14, 2019. This is for new projects
AmeriCorps VISTA is a full-time national service program for organizations interested in developing lasting solutions to address poverty. Nonprofit organizations, Native American Tribes, and state, city, and local government agencies are eligible to apply to be AmeriCorps VISTA sponsors. Proposed projects should focus on any of the following four CNCS focus areas: 1) Economic Opportunity, 2) Education, 3) Healthy Futures, or 4) Veterans and Military Families.
AmeriCorps VISTA members are placed with a sponsor organization to develop and expand services and programs that help lift low-income individuals out of poverty. Their work is concentrated on building the capacity of the organization and community. Each year, over 800 organizations host more than 8,000 VISTA members. Would you like to expand your reach in your community? Build your organizational capacity? If this is of interest, you should consider becoming a VISTA sponsor.
As a sponsor organization, you will have the opportunity to support one or more AmeriCorps VISTA members to focus on anti-poverty and capacity building efforts to improve your organization and community.
Please review the Request for Concept Papers Notice, which provides further details about the program and the next steps.
If you have questions or need technical assistance when completing the concept paper, please contact your CNCS State Office.
