AmeriCorps School Readiness Fellows, Head Start Camden County
Posted by on October 21, 2013
Center for Family Services Head Start Program is seeking AmeriCorps School Readiness Fellows to serve at Head Start programs throughout Camden County.
AmeriCorps State/National members will serve in Head Start classrooms providing one-on-one help and enrichment activities for disadvantaged youth ages 3-5. Members will work closely with youth who are behind in their classes to help ensure that all youth are ready for success in kindergarten and beyond. Members will also lead activities for family involvement.
Right now there are both full and part time service opportunities. Full time members would serve 35 hours a week, part time members would serve 20 hours a week. Both require a minimum commitment of one year. Part time schedules are relatively flexible and can be worked around school and other commitments.
CFS Head Start uses the evidence based Creative Curriculum, which members will be fully trained in before you enter the classroom. Additionally, members would play a role in informing families about the Head Start Program and work with them to improve attendance.
