AmeriCorps positions, National School and Community Corps

The National School and Community Corps, an AmeriCorps program of the non-profit EducationWorks, is currently recruiting AmeriCorps members for a one year term of full-time service beginning in January.
Qualifications: applicants must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency. Applications are reviewed based on the following criteria: community involvement, experience with children and experience in a school setting or a human service setting, length of time at a job, writing skills.
Job Description:
AmeriCorps members are needed to serve students in Philadelphia Public Schools and Girard College starting January 10, 2005. Members serve one year, working with students, one-on-one and in small groups, during school and in after school programs. The average weekly time commitment in public schools is 40 hours per week between the hours of 8-6pm Monday ? Friday. AmeriCorps Members serving students at Girard College also serve 40 hours per week Monday ? Thursday 2-9pm and Sundays.
Members serve one year and receive a $10,197 living allowance, $4,725 education award, loan deferment, training, health insurance, childcare reimbursement, if qualified.
