Open House Event
Monday, November 15, 2010
4:00 – 6:30 PM
Philadelphia City Hall, Room 112
Civic Engagement & Volunteer Service Office

We are excited to inform you that on  Monday, November 15, from 4:00 – 6:30 PM the Mayor’s Office of Civic Engagement and Volunteer Service in collaboration with Philadelphia AmeriCorps Alums will host an open house at City Hall in the Civic Engagement & Volunteer Service Office, Room 112.

This event is an excellent opportunity for AmeriCorps Alums, AmeriCorps program managers, and current AmeriCorps members to learn more about initiatives of the Mayor’s Office of Civic Engagement and Volunteer Service, as well as meet Chief Service Officer, Catie C. Wolfgang and her colleagues.

At the event, we will host a collection drive for the African Daughters of Fine Lineage annual Thanksgiving project which benefits homeless individuals. For some twenty years, the African Daughters of Fine Lineage has served homeless people in Philadelphia by organizing meal services and distributing care packages with basic necessity items.

Open house attendees are encouraged to bring donations of the following items to be distributed to homeless recipients on Thanksgiving Day:

* Toiletries: Soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant and other personal hygiene items
* Winter clothing: Socks, gloves, hats, sneakers, boots, and jackets
* Snacks: Capri Sun juices (juice boxes cannot be accepted because they leak), cans of soda, and individually wrapped candy, cookies, crackers, etc.

To RSVP for the event, please click here. Should you have any questions, please contact me (215) 665-2459 or at rturner@globalcitizen.us.com.

We look forward to seeing you on November 15!

Best Regards,
