Corporation for National and Community Service: AmeriCorps National Grants, AmeriCorps National Planning Grants, & AmeriCorps Indian Tribe Grants

Deadline (all programs): March 8, 2005

AmeriCorps National Grants: This program provides funding to support multi-state AmeriCorps programs. AmeriCorps programs are designed by the applicant organization to address community needs through the assistance of individuals who commit to a term of service of 300 to 1700 hours per year. Grantees are responsible for recruiting the AmeriCorps members to serve in their program. These grants partially cover the expense of operating an AmeriCorps program and do not cover general organizational expenses.

AmeriCorps National Planning Grants: The purpose of these planning grants is to assist faith- or small community-based organizations in their development of a strong AmeriCorps program design. AmeriCorps programs are designed by the applicant organization to address community needs through the assistance of individuals who commit to a term of service of 300 to 1700 hours per year. Organizations that propose to operate in at least two states with programs that use service to address community needs are eligible to apply.

AmeriCorps Indian Tribe Grants: This program provides funds to award AmeriCorps Indian Tribe program grants to eligible organizations. The program supports organizations working to meet local environmental, educational, public safety, homeland security, or other human needs by providing funds for opportunities for participants, called members, to serve their communities.
