Posted by on March 14, 2003

The Belmont Community Partnership represents a multi-disciplinary approach to community capacity building. Our mission is to use the energy and resources from a large university to build skills and knowledge within the Belmont community in West Philadelphia. This particular community has many ideas and enthusiastic people but few resources. The Community Partnership office houses five project areas: Community Organization, Housing, Economic Development, Technology Education, and an open space initiative. Each project area is supported by a coalition of Penn State faculty, community organizations and a VISTA coordinator.

Coordination of partnership meetings and community outreach related to a pilot project will be the primary responsibility of the coordinator.
