American Student Government Association National Summit

Posted by on May 7, 2007

Dear Student Government leaders and advisors:

This fall, The American Student Government Association invites you to join us for training and networking amid the inspiring vistas of our nation?s capitol. Celebrate US history and culture while connecting with future movers and shakers in the lively urban center of Washington, D.C.

From September 27-30, the beautiful Holiday Inn on the Hill will host hundreds of delegates for ASGA?s National SG Summit. During three days of workshops and roundtables, interact with respected speakers, strategize with your peers, and learn how to maximize the productivity of your Student Government. In your spare time, meet your representatives face-to-face on Capitol Hill, shop at nearby Union Station, snap photos of the majestic monuments along the Potomac, or satisfy your intellectual side with a free visit to the Smithsonian.

Each evening, unwind by exploring one of the district?s eclectic neighborhoods. Grab a bite in Chinatown, discover real jazz while strolling down U Street, or mingle at a trendy bar in Georgetown. See a play at the infamous Ford?s Theater, enjoy improv at a local comedy club, or head downtown for a night of dancing.

This year?s Summit also includes two bonus trips for delegates. After Thursday?s workshops, accompany a veteran hill staffer on a ?behind-the-scenes? tour of the Capitol and National Mall. On Friday afternoon, enjoy a complimentary bus ride to Mount Vernon, the plantation home of first President George Washington. Spots are limited for both excursions, so sign up now!

Register by June 1 and July 13 to take advantage of ASGA?s early-bird rates. Registration fees include admission to all workshops and presentations, extensive hand-outs, Thursday evening?s reception, a boxed lunch on Friday and Saturday, copies of Student Leader magazine, a conference T-shirt and SG Planner, as well as discounts on ASGA memberships, leadership materials, and consulting. Reserve your rooms at the host hotel as soon as possible to ensure availability.

In addition, those who register for the conference before June 1 will receive one complimentary hour of SG consulting. Sign up quickly, before all appointment times are filled.
