AMERICAN COMMUNITY GARDENING ASSOCIATION ANNUAL CONFERENCE
October 1 thru 3, 2004
Toronto, Canada
The theme of this year’s conference is “Gardens of Diversity: Growing Across Cultures.” Over 60 workshops are scheduled on a wide variety of topics: how-to sessions on rooftop gardening and preserving heritage seeds; horticultural therapy and rainwater harvesting; stories from a diverse range of community gardens around the world; the planning and promotion of community gardening; and the intriguing story of a community greenhouse in Inuvik, north of the Arctic Circle. In putting the program together we have woven themes of diversity and youth into the workshop streams. There are over 20 tours planned by bike, bus, and foot. Along with community gardens, tours will highlight local watersheds, neighborhood cultural attractions, restoration sites, historical spots of interest and urban agriculture innovations.
