After-School Program Volunteers needed!
Program: Refugee Resettlement
Minimum Time Requirements: At least 2 continuous hours per week between the hours of 3-5pm Monday-Thursday. Semester long commitment.
Brief Description: Support refugee children and youth after school through homework help and ESL support.
Will travel be required? Yes. This position requires travel to a local elementary or high school within the city of Philadelphia, primarily South and Northeast Philadelphia.
Are there language needs? No.
Will training be provided? No formal training is necessary but upon notifying us of your desire to volunteer, specific instructions as well as important information about a HIAS Pennsylvania staff member who will be working with you will be provided.
All volunteers must have PA Criminal Record, Child Abuse Clearances, and FBI Criminal Background checks completed before starting ($28 total).
