William M. Meredith Elementary School & McCall Elementary School
are currently looking to hire staff for their 21st Century Learning Community Centers at Meredith and McCall Schools
All programs are scheduled to run March through early June 2003
After-School Program Coordinator:
1 position ? 20hrs per week for 14 weeks @ 26$ per hour.
This position entails: Managing and coordinating programs for both schools, supervising a staff of 12 artist teachers and 8 assistant teachers, on-site, maintaining all MIS data, tracking attendance and student enrollment forms. In addition the coordinator will work with Fleisher?s Program Director on the development and implementation of arts based curriculum. Strong Elementary Ed and or Art education experience required. Program coordination experience preferred, but administrative experience will also be accepted. In addition this position will require a detail oriented, pro-active, organized person with a car and preferably a cell phone.
Lead Teaching Artists:
12 positions ? 5-7.5 hrs per week for 13 weeks @ 26-30$ per hour commensurate with experience. Applicants must have at least 2 years of teaching experience as a lead teacher (artist-in-residence or in an after-school program) with elementary students.
This position entails: planning and implementing arts based project-learning curriculum to students from 3rd-8th grade. Some positions will entail providing homework support for students, but most programs will be arts based.
Assistant Teachers:
4 positions: 15 hrs per week for 13 weeks @ 13$ per hour
4 positions: 8 hrs per week for 13 weeks @ 13$ per hour
Some experience with elementary students required, preferably with a background in elementary education. Asian language speakers are encouraged to apply especially Chinese speakers.
