After School Lead Teacher, Belmont Academy Charter School

Summary:
This position for an after school teacher responsible for leading afternoon care hours with students in Prek -Kindergarten . OST (Out of School Time) teachers plan lessons and facilitate after-school clubs, major projects, and group activities within a project based learning theme. Teachers also help establish relationships with community organizations for more diverse and engaging programming.
Responsibilities:

Reports to the OST director and site coordinator for daily updates and information

Assist in the school-day dismissal of enrolled after-care students and escort children to their assigned afternoon locations

Serve daily snack and conduct student breaks

Create lesson plans based on project based learning themes that center around S.T.E.M. arts, movement/ physical education, and social emotional learning (SEL)

Prepare and facilitate major OST projects and activities with OST groups

Lead OST clubs through special activities and projects with select students

Actively supervise students during play and projects

Monitor student attendance and conduct head counts as students dismiss

Maintain OST rooms/ spaces and lead daily recovery/ breakdown of rooms and materials

Establish and maintain positive and supportive relationships with OST/daycare families

Assisting director and site coordinator with student dismissal and late pick-up, when required

Accompanying and guiding students hosted OST field trips and featured presentations

Complete required child care professional development certifications
