Dance & Art Teachers Needed For After School Program In Norristown, PA

Teachers will be hired as independent contractors by ACPPA Community Art Center of Norristown (http://www.acppa.net) to teach outreach classes for the Norristown Area School District after school program in the middle schools (co-ed, grades 5-8) and elementary schools (co-ed, grades 2-4). Art and dance teachers are needed.

Middle School Program: All classes are outreach and will be taught in the various Norristown Area School District middle schools. The program is currently running and will end on June 9th, 2016.

Dance: Mondays & Thursdays, 5-6:15pm

Art: Wednesdays, 5-6:15pm

Elementary School Program: All classes are outreach and will be taught in the various Norristown Area School District elementary schools. The program will run May 2nd through June 9th, 2016.

Dance and/or Art: Mondays through Thursdays, 3:50-5pm

*Please state in your cover letter your availability to teach M-Th.

Job Requirements:

• our outreach teachers travel to the schools and must have excellent communication skills, keep in contact with ACPPA admin staff and respond to emails in a timely manner; reliability and punctuality (arriving to the schools on time and being responsible for your classes each week)
• previous teaching experience and experience working with children (paid or unpaid)
• commitment to teach through early June 2016
• must be able to apply for and/or provide the following 3 clearances upon hire: FBI fingerprints, child abuse clearance, criminal background check; ACPPA and NASD are not able to reimburse for these expenses
• having a car is preferred – not all schools are easily accessed by public transportation
