African American Success Foundation Offers Research Funding
Deadline: June 10, 2005

The African American Success Foundation offers the Lydia Donaldson Tutt-Jones Memorial Grant to provide financial support to graduate students and professionals who conduct research activities to study African American success, particularly in the area of education.

Funds are made available through the program to encourage students and professionals in colleges and universities throughout the United States to build upon the science of African American success by studying those attitudes and
behaviors that cause people to attain academic success. Funded research can focus on early childhood education, student performance in the elementary, middle, or high school years, as well as the attitudes and behaviors that help individuals finish college and graduate school. The foundation is equally interested in parental behaviors that contribute to student success, as well as related home and community variables that promote excellence in educational performance.

Research results and summary papers will be disseminated to the public through AASF’s Web site, as well as by mail upon request.

The program will award one grant of $2,000 annually.

Visit the AASF Web site for complete program information and application procedures.
