Affinity Group Lending Program Info Sessions – Apr 2 or 3

Posted by FINANTA on April 1, 2025

Finanta (formerly Community First Fund) announces dates for its April information sessions for its Affinity Group Lending program on Wednesday, April 2 (Spanish) and Thursday, April 3 (English). They will be held at 6pm at Finanta’s Philadelphia office at 1301 North 2nd Street.

The Affinity Group Lending program provides credit building, business technical assistance, and loans to group members with similar financial challenges and limited financial/business knowledge. Each group is made up of 6-15 individuals and throughout the cycle each group member:

  • Works one-on-one with a lender to create a Financial Action Plan
  • Receives a loan of $1,200 to $3,600 on the first borrowing cycle
  • Attends group workshops throughout the year on topics such as bookkeeping, credit building, financial literacy, marketing, and balancing family life while running a business
  • At the end of the loan cycle, entrepreneurs have the opportunity to start a new loan within the program, or “graduate” to a small business loan at Finanta.” And then start the process again if they’d like!

Finanta is a thirty-year-old CDFI whose mission is to improve lives and create economic mobility for individuals, families, and small business owners. It provides flexible loans and financial training to those traditionally left out of the economic mainstream through a loan fund and a credit union to help low-income populations create lasting change in their communities and put down roots.
