Advanced Community-based Social Marketing
Posted by on August 01, 2011
For the first time ever, this November I will be delivering a two-day advanced community-based social marketing workshop in Toronto, Canada (November 17-18). I have had requests to deliver an advanced workshop for many years and I am glad to announce that advanced training in community-based social marketing is now available.
This two-day advanced workshop provides an in-depth exploration of how community-based social marketing can be used to foster sustainable behavior. The session will introduce leading-edge material on selecting behaviors, identifying barriers and benefits (including market segmentation), applying behavior change tools (including some exciting new developments regarding the use of commitments, norms, and social diffusion), and piloting programs. Further, participants will also be coached in making community-based social marketing presentations to their agency or community and will receive PowerPoint and Keynote presentations for this purpose. Finally, each participant will receive a copy of the two books that I published earlier this year, “Fostering Sustainable Behavior:
An Introduction to Community-Based Social Marketing- 3rd Edition” & “Social Marketing to Protect the Environment: What Works.”
To ensure a high level of learning and exchange of ideas, this workshop is restricted to individuals who have previously attended my introductory workshop. What if you haven’t already attended an introductory workshop? There is an introductory two-day workshop being held in Toronto on September 8-9. If you register for this introductory workshop you can then attend the advanced workshop in November.
The introductory and advanced community-based social marketing workshops will be of interest to those working to promote waste reduction, water and energy efficiency, modal transportation changes, watershed protection, and other sustainable behavior changes. Those who work to promote behavioral changes that promote health, such as active lifestyles, will also benefit from attending. Please note that space in the advanced workshop is limited and we have already had a number of people register for the session. Please register early to avoid dissapointment.
