Adult Basic Education/GED “Move Up” Teacher
Community Learning Center seeks an Adult Basic Education/GED teacher to conduct classes at an EARN Center, as part of Pennsylvania’s Move Up initiative, to prepare clients to transition from Welfare to work.
Responsibilities
•Teach reading, writing, social studies, science, and especially mathematics, to adults seeking to enhance their skills and knowledge and/or earn a GED so that they can enter and succeed in the workforce
•Maintain accurate and timely attendance, assessment, goal, and other records
•Maintain accurate and timely individual learning plans
•Attend professional meetings
Qualifications
•Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
•Experience in teaching adults preferred
•Strong base of general knowledge
•Excellent organizational, writing, and computer skills
•Creativity
•Initiative
•Flexibility
•Positive attitude
•Ability to work well with diverse population.
