Administrative Assistant, Information Initiatives, Pew Charitable Trusts

Posted on: May 6, 2011

The Pew Charitable Trusts is driven by the power of knowledge to solve today’s most challenging problems. Pew applies a rigorous, analytical approach to improving public policy, informing the public and stimulating civic life. Based in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., Pew produces fact-based research and develops practical solutions to challenging issues.

A vibrant democracy depends on a citizenry that pays heed to the issues and on policy makers who are in touch with constituent concerns. Pew’s Information Initiatives department comprises projects that have been conceived in that spirit. These initiatives use public opinion surveys and other research tools to produce reports that track and explain important issues and trends. Much of this work is carried out through the Pew Research Center (http://www.pewresearch.org), which was established in 2004 as an independent subsidiary of the Pew Charitable Trusts. It is nonpartisan and does not engage in advocacy of any kind. Information Initiatives staff at Pew work directly with the Pew Research Center in setting goals and key deliverables for existing projects, establishing project budgets, and monitoring the Center’s progress. Staff members also work with the Center to develop ideas for new areas of inquiry.

Information Initiatives also includes the Philadelphia Research Initiative (PRI), which produces timely, impartial research and analysis to help Philadelphia’s citizens and leaders understand and address key issues facing the city. The PRI’s staff and operations are based in Pew’s Philadelphia office.

The administrative assistant will serve as a member of a team supporting the Information Initiatives department. This person will support the department’s officers and associates in developing, processing and maintaining information related to departmental and grantmaking activities. The administrative assistant is based in Philadelphia, PA and will report to an officer in the department; this person will also support the department’s managing director as needed.

We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits package including three weeks vacation, a generous 401(k) plan and flexible benefits options.
