The City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program (MAP) seeks Administrative Assistant part time (15 hour weekly) position with the AVRP Special Projects program. AVRP is an after-school art education program currently sponsored by the Philadelphia Department of Human Services. It provides yearlong art instruction focused on mural making for youth ages 10 to 15 with a history of chronic truancy or at risk behavior. The mural projects are multi-dimensional anti-violence projects with the objective of using art as a vehicle for social change. During the sessions, youth will have the opportunity to create a major mural, explore self expression through writing and art project as well as explore their personal power to make change through art.
The Administrative Assistant provides support to AVRP Coordinator and responsibilities include:
? Collect and update database to include program attendance and information
? Create and maintain documents and materials for mural projects and sites
? Recruit and enroll AVRP students in collaboration with AVRP Agencies, including gathering all necessary paperwork, and keeping all student files organized
? Provide communication and program information for communities and agencies within partnership through flyers, email, and telephone
This position is part time and permanent. The site manager will work 15 hours/week starting in June. Ideal candidates will have: excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent computer skills, proficient Microsoft Office programs, ability to work on a team.
