Montco events combat domestic violence
Laurel House and MLH-Lankenau Hospital will sponsor a continuing education workshop called Addressing Domestic Violence in the Health Care Setting on September 26th.
Five continuing education credits are available for nurses, social workers, case managers and counselors, but all health care and social service providers and educators are welcome.
The workshop will help participants better understand domestic violence issues including behavioral dynamics of victims and abusers; health effects; rapid assessment techniques and tools; how to access local and national resources and referral agencies; and their role as service providers.
The information-packed day will also include breakfast and lunch.
The workshop will take place at Lankenau Hospital, 100 Lancaster Avenue, 6 Medical Science Building, in Wynnewood. Free parking is available. For more information, email Jan Biresch (medadvocate@laurel-house.org) or call 610-277-1860 ext 108. For on line registration, go here.
