Information can make a powerful case for change. Gleaned from statistics and the experience of neighborhood residents, it can help uncover problems and point to creative solutions. But formally-trained researchers and activist groups often have an uneasy relationship. How have local researchers and activists worked together to define parameters of research based on community needs, gathered information, and evaluated it? How have activists used this research to anchor successful organizing campaigns? What can we learn from their work? Led by panelists with a variety of experience, this interactive evening will address these issues and more.
