ACHIEVEability runs campaign for backpacks, school supplies

ACHIEVEability believes that education is the key to helping families succeed and become self-sufficient. Not only does it support single parents who are pursuing college degrees, it assists their children to excel in their academics.

As part of its efforts, the agency is asking for donations to its Backpack Donation Drive. “Backpacks filled with the essential school supplies will be a tremendous impact on our families,” the agency said in a statement.  “While ACHIEVEability can help offset some of their costs of living, our families are responsible for paying expenses such as rent, utilities, food, and childcare. This is no easy task considering most of our families come to us from homeless shelters, overcrowded/substandard living situations, environments of domestic violence, and have little to no education or income. Money is often nonexistent for essentials such as school supplies for their children. This is why this donation drive is so important! By donating a backpack filled with school supplies you can make sure that all of our children have what they need to be successful on the first day of school.”
