Accounting Supervisor, Penn Asian Senior Services
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting, including developing and maintaining general accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure payroll and financial statements are completed in a timely and accurate manner
· Responsible for accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, annual audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities
· Work with the agency’s CPA to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit
· Assist in the compilation of information for the agency’s annual tax returns
· Generate grant fund expenditure reports
· Process, review and balance bi-weekly payroll for 200+ employees, using Quickbooks and Paychex
· Create payroll to record accurately for hours, earnings, benefits, deductions, taxes and reconcile totals. Apply and enforce company’s payroll and benefit policies (e.g. vacation, 401K, medical benefits, withholding exemptions, etc.)
· Process new hires and terminated employees in the payroll system
· Respond to inquiries from employees, benefits vendors and liaisons
· Participate in financial audits, workers’ compensation audits and other related audits for compliance
· Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll requirements, and stay current with changes in the law
· Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance workflow
· Research and resolve payroll issues and other accounting related issues for enhancement
· Work closely with the Executive Director to achieve overall department goals and objectives
· Supervise all Accounting Department personnel
Position Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or other related field
· A minimum of three (3) years experience in accounting and payroll administration
· Experience working in the non-profit sector preferred
· Solid knowledge of accounting processes associated with general accounting principles and audit requirements
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel
· Strong knowledge of Quickbooks and Paychex
· Working knowledge of wage and hour requirements
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to manage multiple projects
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
