At Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia (“HFHP”), we are builders driven by accountability who work alongside, not for others, and are defined by our stick-to-itiveness. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Associate will be responsible for the day-to-day expense management for HFHP. Maintaining general ledgers, budget inputs, and performing general bookkeeping. The Accounting Associate will serve as the finance department’s liaison with Vendors regarding Accounts Payable. Direct responsibilities include recording all activity for Accounts Payable, and other financial activity as it relates to the needs of the finance department.
Key Responsibility Area:
- Maintain Accounts Payable. Understand bill pay timeline and, pay bills accordingly. Communicating with vendors to clarify billing and payment as needed.
- Maintain vendors’ W-9 and update accounting software for 1099 entries.
- New Market Tax Credit billing, compliance, and reconciliation.
- Generate reports from accounting software for staff when needed regarding tracking project/program spending and/or income when appropriate.
- Maintain vendor log, and payment records by keeping track of all invoices on Microsoft SharePoint.
- Support month-end close process within 10 business days of month-end.
- Enter organizational budget into accounting software on an annual basis.
- Ad hoc reporting.
