Description:
In this position you will be responsible for the following duties:
Perform monthly reconciliation of the general ledger and subsidiary accounts and prepare corresponding general journal entries. Analyze accounts on a monthly basis including researching expenses to resolve budget discrepancies, comparing estimated budget to actual expenditures and submitting variance reports to PWDC departments. Complete monthly reconciliation of schedules to state Financial System and PWDC Accounting System. Maintain prepaid expense schedule. Perform monthly system maintenance such as G/L validation, maintaining accounting period and processing history and balance reports. Responsible for recording and reporting monthly Accounts Receivable. Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for PWDC and various partner organizations. Assist with year end reconciliation of accounts and preparation of closing journal entries. Assist Accounting Manager in creation and maintenance of internal reports and record keeping systems to ensure “trouble –free” audits. Assist in preparation of work papers for yearly audit.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Finance or Accounting with a minimum of 3 years of accounting or auditing experience.
Or, any combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable by the Human Resources Department. Excel experience preferred.

Additional Qualifications:
•Knowledge of Accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
•Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff, subcontractors, vendors, and government agencies.
•Strong attention to details and good organizational skills.
•Proficient in the use of electronic spreadsheets, computerized accounting systems, and other database applications.
•Ability to prepare complex and detailed analysis of financial data and the ability to meet deadlines.
