UWGPSNJ holds mentoring workshops
The Community Impact Training Institute of United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey will hold a series of workshops on youth mentoring in November and December.
The ABC’s of Mentoring will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd from 5:30-8pm. This workshop is for current and prospective mentors and will provide an overview of mentoring roles, relationship building and the common challenges that mentors encounter. Participants will also review the developmental stages of children & youth ages 8-18.
Designing a Mentoring Program is a two part workshop held on Mondays, November 18th, 9:30am-1:30pm and November 25th, 9:30am-12:30pm. Participants are asked to attend both days. This workshop will help participants learn how to build a mentoring program from the ground up. Participants will examine how mentoring programs differ from other youth programs, the different types of mentoring programs, and the benefits of mentoring programs. This series is for administrators of programs for youth ages 8-18.
