A Call for Photography Subjects: Show Me Your World in West Philly
Posted by on October 29, 2004
SHOW ME YOUR WORLD IN WEST PHILLY! A call for photography subjects.
Are you a new or longtime West Philadelphia resident?
Do you have something to say about your neighborhood? Its culture? Its past, present, or future?
Would you like to be part of an art project about West Philly neighborhoods?
Photographer/writer seeks volunteers for Crossing 49th Street – an art project that uses photography and creative writing to explore 49th Street as a dividing line between neighborhoods in West Philadelphia.
I am looking for present or past West Philadelphia residents – from both the east and west sides of 49th Street – who are willing to have photographs taken of themselves in their neighborhoods, including in or near their homes, on their blocks, at nearby parks, schools, community centers, etc.
Participants must also be willing discuss their thoughts/experiences about the topic in a recorded interview.
A month-long exhibition of Crossing 49th Street will take place in February 2004 at the Kelly Writers House at the University of Pennsylvania.
To get involved, contact Beandrea Davis at [email protected] or 215-747-7808. Please mention some times that you are available, and state why you are interested in participating.
