This Fourth Annual Recognition Ceremony grew out of the realization that a broad base of diverse programs, institutions, agencies, and individuals are the catalyst for and underpinning of successful reentry and productive engagement for those impacted by the probation and parole system in the Philadelphia area. There is a need to identify and encourage those making a constructive impact on the probation/parole system – either by making improvements, offering support services, or “doing the right thing” – to serve as an example and inspiration to others. By highlighting the diversity of those who make probation-parole a positive experience, we strive to encourage more cooperation among law enforcement, penal, social service, nonprofit, institutional, citizen, and other initiatives that influence it.
