Healthy Farms and Healthy Schools grant

The 2009 application for Pennsylvania’s Healthy Farms and Healthy Schools grant program is now available!
Applications are due May 13, 2009 and are available at the PA Department of Agriculture’s website: http://www.agriculture.state.pa.us/agriculture/cwp/view.asp?a=3&Q=144973
The Healthy Farms and Healthy Schools Program, as authorized by Act 184 of 2006, was established to educate kindergartners and their families about the importance of choosing healthy, locally produced foods while increasing awareness of Pennsylvania agriculture. Any Pennsylvania school district, charter school or private school with a kindergarten program is eligible to apply for the Healthy Farms and Healthy Schools funds. A maximum of $15,000 may be awarded to applicants and a 25% match is required, either in the form of monetary or in-kind expenditures. The grant agreement period is July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010.
