40th anniversary celebration of Community College of Philadelphia

Dear Friends, Students, Colleagues and Alumni:

Community College of Philadelphia is celebrating its 40th Anniversary, ?40 Years?Creating Destinies.? Our celebration commenced on September 23 and will continue through September 23, 2005, 40 years to the day the College opened its doors.

As part of our activities, on Saturday, July 23, 2005, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the College and our Northwest Regional Center will have a community festival, ?Creating Destinies: One Neighborhood at a Time.?

The location and date is as follows:

1300 West Godfrey Ave.
July 23, 2005

The festival will take place on the grounds of the Northwest Regional Center of the Community College of Philadelphia. Students, alumni, parents, children and the community are all invited to attend this event. The festival will consists of, but not limited to, face painting, various cultural dances, singing performances, poetry, literary corner for children, health screenings, nutritional information, free food and some ?giveaways?. There is free admission to the festival.

Community College of Philadelphia, as noted by The Philadelphia Business Journal, has the distinction of being the largest public educational institution in the City of Philadelphia. For the past 40 years, the College has served Philadelphia by educating 523,000 students. We have a presence throughout the City ? in addition to the main campus at 1700 Spring Garden Street and the three Regional Centers, we have 50 neighborhood and business sites, reaching all neighborhoods.
