Each year, MYX invites all Philadelphians between the ages of 9 ? 24 (Philadelphia?s Youth Generation) to capture the spirit of their city and youth culture through the creation of two original youth identity murals.
Entitled Y PHILLY: An Identity Mural by Philadelphia?s Youth Generation, the completed murals are then presented as a gift to a pre-selected community abroad. This year MYX will paint for a community in Venezuela in collaboration with Casa de Venezuela.
For ages 9 ? 24. Private painting sessions available for school groups in October and November.
MYX PROGRAM: Y Philly Youth Identity Mural
This annual MYX project offers hundreds of local young people a chance to freely express an aspect of their cultural identity to their foreign peers through messages, symbols and other images, while also raising young American awareness of foreign cultures.
This year we are presenting our murals to Venezuela. Our past murals have been given to communities in Incheon, South Korea 2003 and Tel Aviv, Israel 2004
