on April 21, 2012 on Martin Luther King Drive next to the Art Museum
About the 5K Run
The 31st Annual 5K Run for Clean Air and Earth Day Celebration will take place April 21st, 2012 at 9:00am. The course starts at the Philadelphia Art Museum and runs along Martin Luther King Drive. Back at the finish line, host organization, Clean Air Council, invites runners and onlookers to enjoy expositions, entertainment, food and fun provided by eco-friendly partners and sponsors.
The 5K Run for Clean Air is a community effort to decrease the air pollution that triggers asthma and other respiratory problems in our families, as well as support programs that reduce waste in favor of increased recycling and composting and slow down global warming. Runners can look forward to substantial cash prizes for top finishers, giveaways, and the pride in helping protect the environment.
About the 3K Walk
New for 2012, a 3K Walk event has been added so that everyone can participate in Philadelphia’s largest Earth Day event! People young and old are encourage to come out. Families can compete in creative award categories for team spirit, costuming and fundraising and enjoy activites after the walk. Also new this year, Platinum Sponsor SCA Americas is providing free registration to all participants ages 60 and over.
