Fostering Academic Achievement Nationwide (FAAN) and John Burton Advocates for Youth invite you to participate in a webinar series highlighting key findings from forthcoming briefs on three policy and practice areas critical to advancing the field of foster care and higher education.
Designed with the aim of increasing capacity in the field and removing barriers to success in postsecondary education for students with experience in foster care, this three-part series will feature the following:
- Advocating for and Implementing Effective Tuition Waivers presented by Education Reach for Texans representatives: Dr. Toni Watt, Texas State University, Dr. Christine Lynn Norton, Texas State University, and Dr. Sheila Bustillos, Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas – Wednesday, January 19 (11 am – 12:30 pm PST)
- State Implementation of Chafee Education and Training Vouchers presented by Embark Georgia, representative Lori Tiller – Wednesday, February 16 (11 am – 12:30 pm PST)
- Developing a Policy Agenda to Support Education Success for Students with Experience in Foster Care Presented by Foster Scholars representative Dr. Molly Sarubbi – Wednesday, March 16 (11 am – 12:30 pm PST)
