The first event was put on by 400 communities in 23 states, numbering an estimated 2.5 million participants. Participation has since grown to more than 34 million people in more than 10,000 communities across all 50 states, Canada and military bases worldwide.
For the forth time, residents of the 24th Police District will be participating in National Night Out. This is an annual event that strives to help people learn how to better fight crime in their neighborhoods. We want to let criminals know that citizens and businesses are committed to joining forces against crime and drugs. The purpose of this event is to inform the community of the Police Department incentives to reduce crime and promote Town Watch and similar business watch programs available to them.
At this time we are requesting your presence to play an active role in our community, by sharing in this effort to make our community a safer place to live, work and play. Please take this time and accept our invitation by joining us in this collaboration by setting up a resource table for this event which will be held at the Home Depot Parking lot in, Port Richmond 2539 Castor Ave on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 from the hours of 6pm to 9pm.
If you should have any further questions, please feel free to contact P/O Tina Willis via telephone or email at 215- 685-9963/[email protected].
