Celebrate this year’s Martin Luther King Day by registering to attend the 22nd Annual National Service-Learning Conference® The Time is Now, April 6-9, 2011 in Atlanta, Ga. Come to learn about the intersections between King’s philosophy and service-learning, walk in his shoes, and hear from civil rights leader Dorothy Cotton — along with international educators Greg Mortenson, and Grant Wiggins.
Meet Civil Rights Leader Dorothy Cotton
Dorothy Cotton was the Education Director for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference for 12 years. Working closely with Martin Luther King, Jr., she served on his executive staff and was part of his entourage when he received the Nobel Peace Prize. She also has served as the Vice President for Field Operations for the King Center for Nonviolent Social Change in Atlanta. Hear her offer a keynote address on Friday, April 8, or during the Gill Legacy Session on Thursday, April 7.
