Apply for 2024 Virtual Institute on High-Impact Practices and Student Success – Mar 15

Posted by American Association of Colleges and Universities on January 23, 2024

The American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) 2024 Institute on High-Impact Practices and Student Success, Strengthening Institutional Capacity for Quality, Equity, and Student Engagement, will be a virtual learning experience held on June 18-24, 2024.

For almost fifteen years, AAC&U has been a leader on evidence-based high-impact practices (HIPs) that empower institutions to be more intentional in developing strategies to achieve equity in student success outcomes across diverse student populations. Building on this foundation, AAC&U has designed a dynamic 2024 institute program that is relevant to the current higher education environment and reflects on the “why” and “how” behind high-impact practices (HIPs). HIPs provide hands-on learning and increase student engagement, leading to a better alignment of knowledge attainment with degree completion and career-readiness goals. All of which best serve the student, institution, and broader society.

During the 2024 institute, teams will have the opportunity to collaborate with distinguished faculty members to discover innovative approaches to creating effective curricular and co-curricular designs for learning and assessment practices that connect with your students’ unique strengths; their cultural wealth, identities, and values, to transform their educational experiences and to prepare them for success. The institute program will focus on developing campus action plans to embed high-impact practices across all disciplines and build capacity for these wraparound services that will support educating the whole student.

Who Should Apply

We invite teams at all levels of this journey to apply. Whether your institution has had high-impact practices as a core educational strategy for years and you want to refresh it and make it more relevant in today’s environment, or you are just starting off on this journey, the Institute provides a curriculum track to meet the needs of your team. We want to meet you where you are in developing faculty-engaged, evidence-based, sustainable models and strategies to advance quality and equity in student learning outcomes. All regionally accredited two- and four-year institutions are encouraged and eligible to apply.
