2024 Mixed Methods Institute, Penn Center for Public Health – Mar 14-15

The Mixed-Methods Institute is a two-day program designed to develop skills for mixed-methods (qualitative and quantitative) research. This particular event is designed with a unique focus for community-based and non-profit organizations who would like to expand their mixed-methods research skills. We welcome members of government, social work, and public health organizations as well as students and trainees. This event on March 14 & 15 will be offered in-person only on campus at the University of Pennsylvania. This course is designed and hosted by the Penn Center for Public Health and the Mixed-Methods Research Lab in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Pennsylvania.
This institute is designed to cover the following content areas:
- Introduction to qualitative research
- How qualitative research can be used to support your organizations work
- Study design and mixed-methods approaches
- Developing an interview guide
- Data collection workshop
- Ways to analyze your data, including an intro to the qualitative software Dedoose
- Disseminating and communicating your work
- Hear from CBO leaders on how they use qualitative research in their organizations
- How to utilize mixed-methods skills in your own organization
