The Engagement Academy for University Leaders
June 1-4, 2020
Graduate Hotel Minneapolis
615 Washington Avenue S.E.
Minneapolis, MN
The Engagement Academy for University Leaders is designed for executives and teams responsible for developing institutional capacity for community engagement. Participants develop institutional plans for engagement and return to their campuses with the ability to advance their plan as well as effectively link community engagement to the teaching, research, and service missions of the institution.
Since its inception in 2008, more than 700 university leaders from around the world have attended the academy. Some institutions send individuals each year to expand the network of leaders on campus in order to continue to enhance and develop their plans for institutionalizing the principles and practices of community engagement. The University of Minnesota’s Office for Public Engagement has been honored with taking on the role of academy coordinator by the academy’s founding institution, the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
