Posted by West Chester University on December 10, 2019

Date and Time: Tuesday and Wednesday, January 14th and 15th, 2020 (snow date: Thursday January 16), 9 AM – 5 PM

Location: Philips Memorial Hall Autograph Library, West Chester University

Faculty from all colleges and universities in the region are invited to participate in West Chester University’s Brandywine Project Workshop, an exciting opportunity to develop or modify courses to focus on issues of sustainability, surrounded by supportive and creative colleagues. Named after the Brandywine Creek watershed, WCU’s workshop innovates by comprehensively integrating the local and global with the social, economic, and environmental aspects of sustainability. Novel workshop sessions include: the global context for higher education and sustainability (including the UN Sustainable Development Goals); social justice and sustainability; integrating whole campus immersive learning into the classroom; and best practices for teaching sustainability from students and faculty. Whether or not you are familiar with sustainability, this workshop is the perfect place to begin learning or to deepen your understanding by further exploring your discipline, creating interdisciplinary connections, and becoming more informed about campus and regional sustainability actions & opportunities for teaching. Participants will leave the workshop ready to infuse sustainability knowledge and practices into their own courses and to inspire their students and colleagues to grow a culture of sustainability at their universities and beyond.

Non-WCU Faculty: Would you like to participate, but your semester has already begun? If so, we can accommodate a select number of participants registering for only one day of the workshop. Email [email protected] for more information.
