Institute Details
The Institute on High-Impact Practices and Student Success will help teams from campuses, state systems, or consortia advance student success by making quality and equity the foundations for excellence as they pursue their institutions’ academic and strategic priorities.
Guided by a faculty of nationally recognized scholars and practitioners, teams will define and develop curricular and cocurricular practices to support student engagement, advance curricular coherence, and generate equitable outcomes.
Utilizing emerging research on AAC&U’s VALUE rubrics, teams will define and strengthen processes for faculty-led direct assessment of student learning outcomes resulting from participation in HIPs, which will help them set and monitor progress towards their equity goals.
Campuses will find support for their efforts to implement educational change and bring effective practices to scale in a time of limited resources. The Institute program addresses ambitious goals for improving both completion rates and the quality of student learning and is highly relevant for institutions at various stages of work.
Admission to the Institute is competitive and limited; all accredited two- and four-year institutions are encouraged to apply.
