The School District of Philadelphia invites you to attend the third annual Research, Policy and Practice Conference (R2P 2016) conference. This year, we will continue our focus on program implementation, literacy, and college and career readiness, which are central to the District’s Action Plan 3.0.

The conference will give practitioners and researchers working in the District a chance to share their experiences with programming, research, and evaluation while learning from each other and brainstorming ways to bridge research, policy, and practice.

Poster Fair

Researchers will share their ongoing studies and evaluations at an interactive poster session designed to foster inter-connectedness throughout Philadelphia’s diverse community of researchers, practitioners, program implementers, and educational stakeholders. Through the poster fair, researchers have an opportunity to present their studies in a practitioner-friendly environment, as well as network with colleagues and peers from across the city.

Breakout Sessions

Researchers and practitioners interested in the same topics will come together to discuss their work, assess needs, and consider how to foster the integration of research, policy, and practice in K-12 education across Philadelphia.

Breakout sessions will include (subject to change):

  • Focus on English Language Learners with the Philadelphia Education Research Consortium (PERC)
  • Lessons from Implementation Science and High School Improvement with the Baltimore Educational Research Consortium (BERC)
  • Conducting Research in SDP: The Essentials of Research to Practice Partnerships
  • Year 3 of Anchor Goal 2 (Early Literacy): Current Implementation and Future Directions
  • Introduction to Tiered Evidence and Identifying Evidence-Based Interventions
  • Climate and Attendance: PBIS, Suspensions, and School Culture
  • Anchor Goal 1: A New Approach to High School Transformation

Featured Speakers

Implementation Sciences – an expert from the National Implementation Research Network will speak on implementation and implications for sustaining high quality programming
