2015 My Brother’s Keeper Philadelphia Summit and Youth Talks

It has been a great year for My Brother’s Keeper Philadelphia. Since launching our Action Plan this March, we have developed a robust network of contributors and supporters, elevated youth voices, and championed a new way of doing business that treats the success of young men and boys of color as the norm. But there is still much work to do, and that is where you come in.

This December, MBK Philly will convene its full collaborative — city departments, youth, local stakeholders, and YOU — at the 2015 My Brother’s Keeper Philadelphia Summit.

The programming, which will take place on December 17-18, 2015, is twofold. On December 17, the Government Alliance on Race & Equity will lead a training for city staff and officials. On December 18, MBK Philly will host a day-long, public celebration to kick off another year of this important work.

During the December 18 celebration, we will debut the first series of MBK Philly Youth Talks. The MBK Philly Youth Talks are an opportunity to highlight young Philadelphians, ages 14 to 24, who are working to move the needle for their peers. In these brief presentations, four speakers will have the chance to share a narrative about their work on a project or program that has the potential to close opportunity and achievement gaps for youth, especially boys and young men of color.
