2008 Pennsylvania Political Leaders Fellowship
9 Months of Comprehensive Leadership Development
To build a pipeline of talented, visionary progressive leadership, CPL recruits, trains, mentors and connects emerging political leaders in our target states who are dedicated to reshaping politics in their region. CPL’s Pennsylvania Political Leaders Fellowship, a 9-month, part-time program for promising future elected officials, organizational leaders and advocates, helps to fill the gap in the progressive leadership pipeline by expanding the opportunities and accessibility of political leadership within the state. CPL Fellows are highly motivated leaders from a variety of backgrounds who plan to run for office, lead a political organization, become a campaign manager or political consultant, or create a new organization or campaign. By linking emerging leaders across the state with each other, with donors, with elected officials and more.

CPL’s Fellowship helps to recruit diverse new political talent; develop effective and inspiring communicators; and build a stronger community of emerging progressive leaders.
CPL Statewide Alumni Impact
Our early success in Pennsylvania is rooted in the success of our alumni. CPL has recruited and trained hundreds of Pennsylvania emerging leaders who have gone on to lead the progressive movement across the state.
Organizational Leaders: 16 CPL-trained leaders now serve as executive directors of progressive advocacy and community organizations across the state. Dozens others now sit on non-profit boards of directors throughout the state.
Future Candidates: 20 CPL Alumni have stepped up to run for elected office in PA. Nine of those Alumni won and are currently holding seats in the PA House of Representatives, on City and Borough councils, school boards, and as local committee people across the state.
Campaign Strategists: Over 25 CPL-trained organizers have been brought on as senior campaigns strategists leading congressional, state, local level and advocacy campaign wins.
