Philadelphia Safe and Sound Releases 2006 Children and Youth Report Card
Philadelphia Safe and Sound released its 2006 Children and Youth Report Card last month, tracking conditions affecting youth from 2001 through 2005.
You can access the Report Card, 11 Neighborhood Report Cards, news stories, and key statistics from here: Safe and Sound Children and Youth Report Cards.

The report card shows that the number of students graduating high school in four years has increased–along with the number of kids in after-school programs.
But the number of homicide victims between 18 and 24 years old jumped from 80 in 2004 to 125 in 2005.
Conditions in schools show slow improvement. Conditions affecting young people in our neighborhoods do not.
This remains a major challenge facing the entire city.
