The theme of Sustainable Pittsburgh’s 4th annual conference is “Regionalism, Governance, and Western Pennsylvania’s Competitiveness in the Global Economy.” New models for regional competitiveness are emerging to cope with the demands of globalization including strategic planning, large-scale citizen participation, and new forms of governance. This conference will explore how governance and economic performance are connected and consider regional reforms for SWPA.
