This institute is designed for adult staff who currently or previously worked full or part-time in a local youth justice program.  This may also include adult board members, advisory committee members, and/or other adult volunteers.  Peer training and sharing will be a primary focus of this 1st Global Youth Justice Institute.  Participants are limited to those adults associated with “juvenile justice” and “youth justice” programs commonly referred to as teen court, peer court, student court, youth court, youth peer panel, and/or youth peer jury program.  More than 1,000 local communities around the world now operate these “juvenile justice” and “youth justice” programs.

Training and presentation topics to be covered include juvenile justice topics, funding and resources, grant writing, civic and law-related education resources, improving and managing more meaningful mandated community service, volunteer training for youth and adults, implementing and enhancing state coalitions/networks, program sustainability, obtaining human resources associated with the service and volunteer networks, supporting the professional advancement of careers in local youth court and teen court programs, and much more.

Early registration is only $195.00 and ends on May 10, 2010.  After May 10th, registration is $225.00.  The registration fee includes half a dozen meals/breaks, materials, and much more.  Registration information, application, travel instructions, agenda, facilitators/trainer list, optional group activities while in Cape Cod, and much more is all available on the Global Youth Justice, LLC website.
